Remediation commence 3,000 ton project for the London Borough of Brent

9th October 2018
John F Hunt Remediation have recently commenced a project for the London Borough of Brent, to remove approximately 3,000 tonnes of soil from Paddington Old Cemetery, making way for over 200 concrete burial vaults. Acting as Principal Contractor, John F Hunt Remediation rapidly organised the project set up, thus allowing the soil to be removed from site before the new September term started at the nearby primary school. Working closely with the haulier, each disposal lorry was safely escorted in and out of the site at slow speed, managing any potential conflicts with members of the public who regularly access the cemetery.             With the excavation works completed on-time, the site team is now working alongside the suppliers of the concrete vaults, to coordinate production, delivery and installation, due to the limited amount of storage space on-site. The installation and backfilling works are progressing well, with about 50% of the vaults now in place.
