John F Hunt Raises Money For Charity

18th June 2013

John F Hunt is pleased to announce that our charity sponsored event successfully raised £55,882! The inaugural Birdshot Uveitis Charity Clay Pigeon shoot and auction was held this May, and sought to raise money for the Birdshot Uveitis Society, a charity that offers support and research towards the rare autoimmune eye disorder, helping to prevent needless loss of sight.

Sponsored by John F Hunt

The event was comprised of a clay pigeon shoot in the morning, followed by lunch, an auction and prize giving in the afternoon. John F Hunt co-sponsored the event with Silverdell plc, with the shoot organized by the Royal Berkshire Shooting School.

Shooters from all skill levels were divided into twenty three squads of four guns, and the morning was spent shooting clay pigeon targets. After the shoot, the auction, directed by Jeffrey Archer, was held to further raise money for this worthy cause— items up for auction included a holiday in Portugal, a visit to the Mercedes F1 factory, a painting by Geoffrey Key, tickets for West Ham and Twickenham, among many others.
