The 2014 Little Britain Challenge Cup took place in Cowes from the 4th to the 7th of September. Little Britain raises money through the Challenge and donates funds to sailing charities each year, helping disadvantaged and disabled people experience the delights of being out on the water.
The John F Hunt crew on the 46ft Gran Soleil “Belladonna” included Andy Salter, Bruce Diffey, Tony Swanwick, Mick Blizzard and Lesley Ager with invited guests: Charles Horne (Grosvenor), George Axson (M3), Paul Isaacs (Generator Group), James Waite (Almacantar), Alan Bunting (Ramboll), Barry Dobbins (Watermans), Lawrence Peters (E C Harris), Matthew Rowan (Gleeds), Chris Husband (Hush PM) and Jamie Whitnall (Rocket Inv) Unfortunately due to a lack of wind on Friday, sailing was abandoned, however Saturday saw the John F Hunt team come 3rd in their class (Class 1 IRC) in the Hyder consultants Trophy.
The John F Hunt crew also raced in the Polypipe Regatta in the Solent on Thursday and came 9th in their class.
