John F Hunt munched its way through the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ on Friday the 25th September to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and managed £303!
A huge display of over 12 different homemade cakes, scones and biscuits were baked on Thursday evening by both the ladies and gents at John F Hunt and driven very carefully into the office on Friday morning! A donation for every cupcake or slice of gateaux to go with morning coffee, saw the money flowing into the charity box in the middle of the beautifully laid out and colourful display.
Every person who made the effort to bake a cake and every cake consumed helped to raise money for people affected by cancer. £27 pays for a nurse to spend an hour with someone who has just been told they have cancer, £62 helps a cancer sufferer clam the benefits they are entitled to and £175 enables them to heat their home when they need to.
A brilliant effort was made by all the bakers and an even bigger effort was made by everyone in the John F Hunt offices to chomp through as many cakes as possible during the day…needless to say, by mid-afternoon, a major sugar rush was had by all!! Good cause guys, well done Mary Berry & Paul Hollywood would be proud!!
