Do you fancy a change of career? How about training to become a diamond drilling/concrete cutting operative?
John F Hunt has been carrying out specialist concrete cutting works for the past 40 years and is offering apprenticeships!
The training period is 18 months to NVQ Level 2.
- Once fully trained, Diamond Drilling Operatives have great salary potential.
- Fully paid holidays (PAYE).
- The opportunity to have a fully kitted-out company vehicle.
- Hours of work are Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:30. Some overtime will be required from time to time.
Duties
- Initially, based in our Yard at Grays and under the supervision of various managers, learning about basic health, safety & environmental matters in the workplace.
- Assisting Yard Manager with the movement of plant and equipment whilst learning to identify the wide range of plant, equipment and materials required to carry out the works and the health, safety & environmental aspects and impacts.
- Being educated about the technical operation of the plant and troubleshooting/problem-solving. This is wide-ranging, including safety, movement, guarding, operation, proper maintenance and care.
- Assisting and shadowing other members of the team to train on the job.
- Some overtime will be required.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- A “can-do” enthusiastic attitude and eagerness to learn are essential.
- Happy to work outside in the elements and work with heavy equipment. (Full Personal Protection Equipment will be provided)
- Happy to work as part of a team.
- Full driving licence.
