Alison joined John F Hunt in 2001, originally in the role of New Business Development and Marketing Manager, before focusing purely on marketing and design.
The John F Hunt Group has expanded from 4 companies when she joined, to 15 currently, with marketing, photography and graphic design having changed immeasurably during that period . Alison manages the marketing for the whole Group, both digital and paper and was promoted to Group Marketing Director in 2017.
The creation of a new company called TechVertu, for which she is the Marketing Director, has been the latest project, providing a central in-house hub to manage the Group’s day to day IT and Marketing requirements. As a company in its own right, it also provides a comprehensive web design, maintenance, hosting, branding and IT service, to companies outside the John F Hunt Group.
Since 2013 Alison has run a yearly Charity Clay Shooting Day for the Birdshot Uveitis Society, to raise funds for research into what is a rare and potentially blinding eye disease, for which there is currently no cure. The day at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School hosts more than 100 guns and raises on average £55k per year.
Alison has also worked on various interior design projects, the latest of which has been a 4 bedroom luxury villa within the Four Seasons resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Working closely with the engineering department, this project was both structural and design driven and will be marketed for high class rental through the creation of a new website.
From the late 1980’s to the late 1990’s she managed ‘International Supersports Cup’ with her partner, which soon grew into a successful Historic CanAm Motor Sport Series, racing all over the world and in later years becoming the support race for Formula One. Alison coordinated all the teams, organised travel, vehicle carnets, race entries, circuit programmes, hosted prize givings and glamorous parties. She was the link between race control, the pits, paddock and 65 drivers, their teams, sponsors and families. She managed the design, manufacture and distribution of ISC’s bespoke race clothing, including logo creation and all their marketing material. Manic, but fun days!
Prior to the crazy world of Motor Racing, Alison travelled abroad for 6 years during the 1980’s, doing a variety of work from yacht delivery in Greece, a knife throwing act in Spain, fruit picking in Israel and managing a night club in Gibraltar.
Over the years she has managed the marketing for a successful tennis academy, a tile import business, a ground anchoring company and created programmes for theatre productions in Brighton. A wide and varied marketing and design career!
