Please Help Us Reach 10,000 for Birdshot Uveitis

5th January 2015

There comes a point in life, especially when you reach the age of 50 when you start to take that “Bucket List” that you drew up several years ago a bit more seriously.

It’s a brilliant feeling when you are able to look back in several years’ time and know that you not only made a huge achievement but also raised money for a brilliant cause at the same time.

Having worked together for some years at John F Hunt Demolition Limited, employees Bill Unwin, Martin Lavery, and Steve Mansfield have decided to lay down their monthly SAGA magazines, brush the dust from their gym membership cards and begin training for their trek to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

The three employees have decided to raise money and awareness of the Birdshot Uveitis Charity, a small charity with particular and poignant connections with John F Hunt Demolition Limited. What is Birdshot Uveitis? Birdshot Uveitis is a relatively unknown, non-curable and potentially blinding eye condition that affects a small percentage of the population but is no less important than any other disease.

The charity is run by Annie Folkard and further information can be obtained about the charity on http://birdshot.org.uk/ Our half centurions intend to climb the mountain in February 2015 and hope to raise a minimum of £10,000.00 for the charity!
