We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Jack to TechVertu for his work experience placement and what a brilliant week it was! At just 15, Jack brought energy, curiosity, and a genuine eagerness to learn from the moment he walked through our doors.
Over the course of the week, Jack gained hands-on insight into both the technical and creative sides of the business. He explored our IT support structure, learning how our three-tier system – Level 1, 2, and 3 – handles client issues through a ticketing system. He also delved into domain controllers and their role in managing networks, while getting a taste of coding to understand how software is built.
But it wasn’t just the tech side that caught his interest. Jack tackled the world of creativity too, joining our marketing team to design logos, edit videos, and learn about the power of social media in brand communication. He embraced each challenge with enthusiasm and quickly picked up new skills.
Here’s what Jack had to say about the experience:
“During my week at TechVertu, I learned loads about different parts of the IT world. I got to work with the John F Hunt Group marketing team, design logos, edit videos, and explore how social media helps a business. I also saw how IT support is run, tried out some coding, and learned about domain controllers. It gave me a good look at how a real office works and how everything connects.”
Jack was a fantastic addition to the team. He was keen, focused, and full of ideas. We were honoured to be part of his journey into the working world, and we’re certain this is just the beginning for him.
