LOCATION & OVERVIEW

Ealing Common Depot located in West London, W5, consisted of 3 train maintenance sheds and 3 wash shed buildings which were situated adjacent to a live depot siding.
John F Hunt undertook demolition works as sub-contractor for 4LM, which included asbestos removal, concrete saw cutting, existing concrete pit breakout, installation of temporary works, beam installation, roof repair and drainage diversion.

BESPOKE WORKS & CHALLENGES

Due to its position adjacent to the live depot side, all concrete pit breakout works were carried out keeping dust, noise and vibration to minimum.
Demolition of 3no wash shed buildings were completed during the weekend with possession in place for track closure.
Waste removal was challenging due the confined space and limited time that waste lorries had access to the site.
Permanent works which consisted of Metsec beam installation on the live depot side was completed successfully.
