We are currently looking for a Depot Foreman to join our busy depot in Livingston.

As a Depot Foreman you will be the liaison between the office and the engineering team and will support the Depot Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the depot.

The role will be predominately yard based, with some field base work as and when required. The role comes with a competitive salary, 25 days paid annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to) the following:

  • Oversee all Engineering & yard staff on a daily basis
  • Ensure equipment is prepared to company standards and legal requirements
  • Liaise with customers when required in order to resolve any breakdowns or ascertain faults
  • Manage engineers’ workload on a daily basis
  • Allocate weekly service runs to engineers
  • Dealing with suppliers as and when necessary
  • Ensure stock levels of spare parts/filters are kept to a workable level
  • Ensuring everyone adheres to Health & Safety guidelines at all times
  • Working closely with other depots within the group
  • Part of an on-call rota providing out of hours coverage
  • Potential requirement to work some evenings and weekends to support on call staff

Desired skills and experience:

We are looking for a well organised individual who;

  • Has Generator experience & knowledge – Minimum 3 years
  • Advantageous to have experience as a Foreman preferably gained within hire industry
  • IS a strong manager of people, able to supervise a team if engineers, drivers and any sub contracted employees
  • Sound commercial awareness and judgement
  • Ability to prioritise work according to the demands of a busy depot
  • Full UK driving licence held for minimum of 3 years
  • Forklift licence preferable (training provided if required)
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Is able to ensure all clients receive excellent customer service at all times
