Any work on a roof is high-risk. High safety standards are essential however long or short term the work is.  The nature of the precautions needed may vary from one job to another, but not providing any safeguards is simply unacceptable.

Mobile Man Anchor
Mobile Man Anchor

The Mobile Man Anchor has been specifically designed to provide short term safety for low frequency operations where guardrails are not provided, such as for maintenance of flat roofs or plant & equipment installed at roof level including air conditioning units, lightning conductors and telecommunications equipment.

Currently the lightest Anchor on the market, it is extremely compact, portable and easily assembled.  The anchor weights are supplied with suction cup rubber boots which protect the roof and increase friction resistance, enabling the anchor to be used on all roof membranes, even in wet weather.

We advise that Mobile Man Anchor should, as far as is reasonably practical, only be used as a fall restraint system as opposed to fall arrest.  When utilised as a restraint system, a fixed length lanyard should be used in order to ensure the operative is unable to reach the leading edge.

Scaffold Hook or Karabiner?
Scaffold Hook or Karabiner?

A lanyard is always affixed to the harness, but careful consideration is required when connecting the other end of the lanyard to a fixed object.

As soon as the lanyard is attached, this item/object is classed as 'Man Riding'.  Scaffolding or for example, tested handrails will require the use of a Scaffold hook, or Man riding eye bolts would require Karabiners.

Thameside Lifting stock all attachments required and are happy to advise you if you have any concerns.  There are many different types of attachment, and different types of each attachment, so choosing the correct one is essential.
