:: St James's Street, London SW1
The Job
3 & 5 storey 1960’s buildings within the prestigiuous central London
area of Pall Mall. The site was two doors away from Clarence House, the former
Queen Mothers residence, and directly joined to Mark Masons Hall, one of the
most important Masonic Hall in the country.
The works
We were to demolish the three and five storey structures, remove a mansard roof
on top of a Grade II listed building and strip out and remove the basement slab
directly beneath the Grade II listed area. Extensive protection works were carried
out within the building during the demolition to ensure that none of the listed
areas were damaged in any way.
Environment
We invested in the innovative use of remote controlled machinery within the
listed areas, which meant that environmental pollution was kept to an absolute
minimum.
Delivery of Services
The demolition of the various structures was completed within the 18 week programme
and within the £700,000 contract sum.
